Today we picked up Fred's Mom and drove about an hour to J.D.Grant park on Mt. Hamilton in San Jose. They had offered up a volunteer position as camp hosts. First of all the ride up there would be a nail bitter in the RV but doable. The camp was beautiful, really picture perfect. Then we arrived at the camp host site and everything ended there. The current camphost has a large fifthwheel in the site like he used a shoe horn to get it. there. The sewer and power were on the wrong side. Overhanging the site was a great old Oak tree. No way to get internet satelite and his tv satelite was O.K. on the side of the hill about 50 feet away. Phone service was intermittent. Then we took the other road to the park back to San Jose. Some of the turns were so tight that we had to stop for oncoming traffic. All and All it was an adventure. I really wish the spot was good because it would be an incredible place to spend the summer.

After that we took Nana to the supper WalMart in Gilroy. That was a treat. You know how RVers LOVE WalMart. Then off to Chili's for dinner and home. The weather was perfect and the day was great.

  1. Every time I go to WalMart, I remember your visit to Ogden. Before that I had never paid attention to RVs parked there. It's like a little sub-culture, isn't it? I miss you guys!
